The MTH Industries Chicagoland knows and loves today is the combination of four historically significant companies: Tyler & Hippach Glass Company, founded in 1886; Illinois Bronze Works, founded in 1923; Midwest Glass Company, founded in 1930; and Midwest Iron Works, founded in 1938.
MTH has built upon Chicago‘s rich architectural history for decades. We installed the original windows of the Field Museum in 1919, have serviced the historic Union Station since its construction in 1925, and provided the original window install at the Civic Opera House in 1929. Our ongoing service and restorations are relied on at these beloved Chicago landmarks, and our quality craftsmanship has lasted nearly a century.
In recent years, MTH has contributed greatly to Chicago’s ever-evolving architectural landscape. Among these iconic additions are the Skydeck at Willis Tower, The Bean at Millennium Park, and the exterior glass façade at Apple’s flagship store on the Chicago Riverfront. Our incredible range of projects has made MTH one of the most familiar truck fleets in the construction industry.
Now in our third century of servicing Chicagoland’s construction and real estate industries, we’ve become the premier resource for general contractors, architects, engineers, building owners and managers.
Our precision, professionalism, resources, and state-of-the-art facility make us the first and only choice for glazing, structural and ornamental metal, renovation, and maintenance—from concept to completion.
From helping construct some of Chicago’s most iconic buildings to providing standard building maintenance services, MTH continues the tradition of old-world craftsmanship, hardy work ethic, and an unsurpassed commitment to quality.
